Development Update #3
Labyrinth Sprint (Demo) » Devlog
A new batch of updates to the game are now up. The main focus of these has been adding sounds to the game. There are now basic sound effects generated using sfxr for collecting coins and items as well as combat. This had required quite a few under the hood changes, but adding further sounds in future should be much easier. Next up is looking at music!
The tileset progression has also been tweaked to change the level graphics more often.
The complete changelog is below:
New Features:
- Added sounds for picking up coins and items, as well as combat.
- Added an option to the options menu to allow changing the game's master volume. As well as the code changes necessary to make this work.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed the rendering of the downstairs tile on maps where the top half would be cut off.
Other:
- Tweaked the tileset progression to show changes to the level graphics more frequently.
- Minor performance improvements around rendering the map and calculating monster vision.
